Profile: Douglas LeRoyPosted by Administrator on 16/01/2010 15:32:22 Douglas LeRoy serves as the General Director of Church of God World Missions which administrates the denomination’s ministry in 166 countries. A native of South Carolina, he graduated from Lee University in 1965 with a BA in Biblical Education. After Lee he did masters studies at the University of Louisville and at the Theological Seminary. He received his D. Min. from European College and Seminary in Belfast, Northern Ireland (University of Liverpool) where his emphasis was on the church and leadership development.
Dr. LeRoy pastored in Fargo, North Dakota and Louisville, Kentucky; he served as State Youth & Christian Education Director of North and South Dakota, Oklahoma and Florida; he taught for two years at Northwest Bible College in Minot, North Dakota; he served as Managing Editor of the EVANGEL for three years; for the past 25 years he has been involved in missions – 15 years as Field Director of Western Europe/Mediterranean/Middle East based in London.
He has served four terms as a member of the International Executive Council and on numerous boards, committees and commissions for the church. He is a member of the Pentecostal Press Association and is World Mission’s representative to World Relief and the Chamber of Commerce. He has written numerous articles for a variety of publications and has authored 10 books. His most recent book, SENT ONES, tells the story of seven missionaries. He is a regular speaker at conferences and camp meetings having ministered twice at the General Assembly – 1980, 1990 and at the 1989 and 1995 World Pentecostal Conference.
He is married to the former Wanda Thompson of Winter Haven, Florida. They have three children – Dina, Donald, Dara, and six grandchildren – Davin, Nikki, Chase, Jackson, Chelsea and Emma.
