COGOP AlliancePosted by Administrator on 16/09/2009 14:24:01 Joint Working Relationship with the Church of God of Prophecy
Saturday, 8th July marked a very special day in the history of our churches as we formally committed ourselves to work together in partnership to address the major social, political and spiritual issues that confront our people in this Country. Issues such as the education underachievement of our boys in particular, the over-representation of our people in the mental health and criminal justice systems and the care needs of the aged among us are just a few of the issues that call for a collaborative action in our approach to government and policy makers who are ultimately responsible.
Our desire to work in partnership is borne out of the fact that a cohesive community will only come about when the church in particular junction as salt and light as Christ intended. We are not ignorant that there might be challenges ahead, but we are determined to press ahead for we know that, "... none of us lives to himself and no one dies to himself. For if we live, we are the Lord's; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore whether we live or die, we are the Lord's." [Romans 14:8,9].
