Challenges
of Black
Pentecosta
l Leadership
in the
21st Century’ .
In the face of all of these, this leadership training centre cannot afford to think and build small. It cannot think only of the New Testament Church of God, or of the Black Pentecostal churches alone, but think of providing a ministry to the church on a whole.
Bishop Dr Joe Aldred Birmingham, March 2008
Dedication of The Leadership Training Centre
On 9th
November 2007 in the company of our General
Overseer, Dr D McGuire and the International
Director of Ministerial Development, Dr. Donald
Aultman The Education Learning Centre was officailly openned.
The Education and Training programme utilizes the CIMS (Certificate in Ministerial
Studies)
curriculum in the
context of lifelong learning. CIMS offers
a programme of enrichment for every
member and ministerial professional
development for leaders within the
Church of God as well as those who are
not affiliated.
Over 65 people have enrolled and attended the CIMS courses since the launch of the programme in September 2007: - 25 Calling and Ministerial Studies [CAMS]
- 22 Ministerial Internship Programme [MIP]
- 18 Personal Enrichment and study in specialised areas of ministry
- 10 Visitors
The feedback from participants includes the following: ‘I feel like the Church has at long last
begun to invest in me. I have been
attending Church for over
30 years and in that time have listened to a lot of sermons
which have been inspiring but have
not really equipped me for ministry.
The training courses are providing me
with what I need to confidently do my
part in our Christian witness where
God has placed me in the community.’
