• Try changing your women’s meeting from nighttime to daytime depending on the age of members; then once a month have an evening meeting to include everyone.

• Make a rota of activities to include everyone in your women’s group, you will be surprised the hidden talents that is in your group (always have a contingency plan in case anyone lets you down).

Secret Sisters

This works very well in small groups.

• All those who wish to be involved in the Secret Sister complete a card with the following information:

Name

Favourite Colour

Colour of Kitchen/bathroom/bedroom

Birth Date (not year)

Anniversary date (if appropriate)

Any other information that the group desires

• Each person will take a card
• It may be useful for one person who is not involved to keep a list of those involved
• For the length of time the group determines, six months, nine months or a year, show kindness to your sister, but this must be done in secret
• A large box with the words ‘Secret Sisters’ should be kept at an appropriate place into which gifts (e.g., hankies, tights, flowers cards, letters, etc.,) should be placed.
• At the end of the period have a celebratory evening, perhaps in one of your Women’s Day/weekend. At this time, each person will bring a special gift for her Sister and all will be revealed!
• If well organised, this can be a very special activity, culminating in an evening of entertainment, fun, great fellowship and laughter. It’s a great way to express love.

In order not to be detected

(a)Always write your Secret Sister’s name on the gift, but do not write your name

(b) For obvious reasons ask someone else to put your gift into the box

(c) Disguise your handwriting as much as possible.
