MISSION STATEMENT

To assist women in developing a deeper understanding and relationship in God through worship, fellowship, training and leisure, and to enhance our relationship with the wider community by welcoming other cultures and organisations.

Mission Mobilization – Grenada

As a result of the devastation caused by hurricane Ivan in September 2004, the Women Ministries Department have raised funds to help support the re-building and refurbishment which has become necessary.

The Department believes in a ‘hands on’ approach to missions and ministry and women and men were invited to become a part of this mission team to Grenada. A total of 28 people quickly responded and committed to paying their way. Preparations are in place for the team to visit Grenada from 22 nd August until 5 th September 2006.

In addition to refurbishment work, the team will be involved in community work – visiting the prison on the island, supporting children’s, women’s and men’s education through organising and running summer schools, teaching IT and giving training on health issues. The team are preparing to minister in local churches and to be involved in street ministry.
