Training

The department strongly believes in empowering women through training and personal development. The annual empowerment Conference is planned to assist their educational/spiritual needs. The department has supported and encouraged training in Counselling skills. Since 2004, in excess of 70 women have successfully completed the recognized OCN basic Counselling skills and the NCFE Certificate in Counselling Skills (Levels 1 & 2). The department will continue to support a ‘roll over’ programme in order to ensure that all women who have a desire to train in this area are given the opportunity to do so.

The department holds a register of professional Counsellors in various parts of the country. Please contact us if you wish to use their services.

Family Life

The department encourages ministry to families, widows, new and single mothers and women in prison.

Domestic Violence

Family life is complex. It has its high points and its low ebbs. Unfortunately some women only experience the low ebbs as a result of and violence. We encourage an awareness of domestic violence and through our professional counsellors women are assisted in their times of grief and pain.

Women in prison

For a variety of reasons some women find themselves incarcerated at HMP. We will endeavour to support these women by visits and assisting their personal needs.

Spiritual Growth

We encourage spiritual growth through teaching, Bible Studies and intercessory prayer.

Prayer is the key to our success. The successes that come to us, our Church and our world is through prayer. However much we plan our programmes and activities, if prayer does not under gird them, we will not have the desires results.

Prayer is an awesome, wonderful experience, which should never be underestimated. The Spirit of God intercedes in ways words cannot describe. Prayer is taking to God – enjoyment of God; it is communion and fellowship with God; it is connecting with God; it is building relationship with God. Prayer cannot be measured by the length of time we spend on our knees, but time spent with God is the secret of knowing Him, and the more time we spend with Him, the more we will know Him. Prayer involves praise, thanksgiving, worship, adoration, supplication and intercession. Through prayer we acknowledge God’s faithfulness, His divinity, His strength and we seek to gain a deeper understanding of His infinite power.
