Welcome to the our forthcoming 2006 National Youth and Christian Education Convention

This year’s theme is The K Factor, drawn from ‘The Kingdom of God’s Manifesto’ in Matthew chapters 5, 6 & 7, aka ‘The Sermon on the Mount’. We are blessed to have Rev. Dennis Scotland and Rev. Kevin Shaw as guest speakers and look forward to their anointed ministry.

Through multiple remote controls we increasingly access reality TV, room and garden fix up shows and personal makeover programmes. A culture obsessed with veneer is unlikely to address the deeper issues, which have more to do with character than looks. However, in Jesus’ most famous message, He outlines qualities of the heart that are often the opposite of those that society values.

This weekend as we consider how to translate the King’s radical message into daily living, may we see the world differently; from God’s perspective and may the same Spirit that distributes gifts of power for kingdom service, also work in us to produce kingly qualities of life, love and a holy character.
